BALLOON RELEASE INFORMATION.

SOME FACTS CONCERNING THE ENVIRONMENT:

The balloons we use are made from latex, which biodegrades at roughly the same rate as an oak leaf. Helium is a naturally occurring inert gas. It has been proven that balloons ascend around 5 miles before shattering into miniscule fragments. They therefore present no hazard to environment or wildlife. Race labels (if used) are made from recycled card.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A BALLOON RELEASE?

It promotes your company or charity. If labels are pre-sold, the release becomes a fundraiser. It also allows the client to compile a database of potential customers. The media loves winners, the prize giving is another opportunity for publicity.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

If balloons are to be pre-sold it is advisable to order the labels quickly. They can be sold in the run up to the event and so generate more interest. When considering prizes, bear in mind that balloons can and do travel long distances. This could lead to problems if a prize was a trip abroad for example. If fundraising is your primary concern, you could ask a third party to sponsor the release thus increasing your profit.

REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on the amount of balloons to be released, it may be necessary to contact the CAA. The landowner must give their permission as well as the local authorities. The more that are aware of the event, the more assistance we will get.

SAFETY:

We use large cylinders, anyone without experience of dealing with helium needs to be kept away . Balloons fascinate people, as the nets or tubes grow, people will again need to be kept at distance. This is why we enlist the help of the local authorities.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM BALLOON FIESTA?

We are highly skilled and motivated with the necessary expertise to carry out your release with total professionalism. We will visit the release site and liaise with the relevant authorities to ensure the release day is hassle free. We will apply to the CAA for permission for the release and afford our client support from the initial consultation through to the release day and beyond. We will liaise with your representative on the day of release to ensure all goes well. We care about the environment; WE DO NOT USE RIBBONS OR VALVES ON THE BALLOONS and we follow the NABAS code of practice regarding balloon releases.

G
ENERAL NOTES:

Once permission has been granted, the CAA will allocate a time slot. This must be adhered to because air traffic may need to be diverted away from the release site. The weather is important and needs to be considered. High winds, heavy rain and low cloud all cause problems but we have never cancelled due to bad weather.
